Route

The varied course ROUTE is a fast one with some light up-and-down hill stretches.
Starting at the Palazzo dello Sport, the route runs the entire length of via Cristoforo Colombo (17,200 km), then up and down the seafront, 1,800km each way, to the finish line at the round-about. (La Rotonda).

Pacemaker

The Pacemakers are expert athletes that run at a steady pace and help the participants to acheive the chronometric result desired.

Water and Spunge provisions

There will be water and spunge provisions along the route. Three stations at around kilometers 5,11, and 16 and one spunge
station (unless there are particularly difficult weather conditions), around Km 13. At these stations, athletes who drop out off the
race along the way may hand in their chips. There will be a 'sweeper bus' and ambulance behind the last athlete.
It will also be possible to turn in the chips on the 'sweeper bus' for athletes who drop out along the way.
At the finish line there will be refreshments including water, tea, and fruit..

Timing

The timing of the race will be handled by Timing Data Service.
Your time will be monitered from the moment you pass the starting line, till the moment you pass the finish line and at three other point along the way thanks to special sensors that register the progress of your chip.
Time and ranking will be available imPress Realisestely after the race. There are also five timeclocks along the route, to check your time. The first is ath the starting line, the next at km 5, then km 10, then km 15, and one at the finish line.

Registration fees

€ 18,00 for those who register before 29th of October, 2009
€ 20,00 for those who register between 30th of October, 2009 and the 30th of November 2009
€ 25,00 for those who register between the 01st of December 2009 and the 18th of January 2010
€ 30,00 for those who register from the 19th of January 2010 and the 1st of February 2010

REFUND OF ENTRY FEE Entry fees are non-refundable. However, those entrants who no longer intend to participate may transfer their application fee to a different entrant after submitting a request by February 7th, 2010 ( until 30th of October, it will be free, from 31st October paying a € 5 transfer fee ). The new entrant must complete the entire registration process. The bib number will correspond to the new entrant’s best time in half marathon.
From 8th February to 21st February it will be possible to transfer your application to Romaostia 2011 paying 10 euros ( the payment is until 21st February )

Assigning of Bib Numbers

At the starting point, the runners will be subdivided into five grids according to their bib numbers. The bibs of each grid will be different colours.



At the starting line, the runners will be divided into 6 grids according to their bib numbers. Each grid’s bibs will be of a different colour.

FIRST GRID (Elite)
Bibs 1-120 mens and F1-F40 womens: will be assigned to the male athletes who placed within the top 100 and female athletes who placed within the top 30 in the 2009 RomaOstia in addition to those athletes selected by the organizing committee based principally upon the declared and verified times.

SECOND GRID (Top Runners)
Bibs 121-1000 mens and F41-F200 womens: will be assigned to the male athletes who placed 101st to 800th and female athletes who placed 31st to 150th in the 2009 RomaOstia in addition to those athletes selected by the organizing committee based principally upon the declared and verified times.

THIRD GRID
Bibs 1001 to 2500 mens and F 201 to F 400 womens.

FORTH GRID
Bibs 2501 to 4000 mens and F 401 to F 700 womens.

FIFTH GRID
Bibs 4001 to 6000 mens and F 701 to F 900 womens.

SIXTH GRID
Bibs 6001 to 11000 mens and F 901 to F 1500 womens.
