  • Participation requirements:

FOREIGN ATHLETES NON-RESIDING IN ITALY: Athletes non-residing in Italy must be 18 or older on the race day. In order to register for the race, these athletes must provide one of the following documents:

1) Athletes that are members of clubs affiliated with foreign athletic associations recognized by IAAF  must send a scanned copy of their membership card or the Declaration for athletes registered with a Foreign Federation by e-mail to info@romaostia.it.

The membership card must be valid on the date of RomaOstia Half Marathon 2019; it must comply with all the rules and regulations on road running enforced in the athlete’s country of residence upon registration.

2) In compliance with the Italian law for safety in sports, athletes who do not hold a Iaaf membership card can participate with the Runcard which is the Fidal (The Italian Athletics Federation) card that includes an insurance policy against injuries (which is compulsory in Italy) and other benefits. It’s valid for 12 months and it costs 15 euros. In conjunction with the medical certificate for competitive athletics, the card allows you to participate in competitive running events in Italy without the need of the membership card of an Iaaf-licensed club.

FOREIGN ATHLETES RESIDING IN ITALY: Foreign athletes residing in Italy must have the same requirements of Italian athletes (must be members of a Fidal – please, read the Italian rules).

1)Athletes registered in associations affiliated with FIDAL and other CIP Federations (for disabled athletes’ categories). The athlete must supply a copy of the renewal registration in FIDAL for 2019, or other CIP membership card (for disabled athletes’ categories). If registration takes place before the renewal of membership, the athlete should in any case send a copy of FIDAL 2019 renewal or a substitute declaration, written on their Association’s letterhead and signed by the Association’s Chairman as soon as possible.

2) Athletes who hold a RunCard along with a medical certificate for competitive athletics

Registration of athletes supplying only medical certificate signed by their doctor or self certification are not allowed.

  • Where and when do I pick up my race number?

You can pick up your bib and your race pack at Exposport Roma Ostia. No entrants will be allowed to pick up their number on race day.

  • How do I cancel my entry?

Registration fees are not refundable.

  • What does PB mean?

It refers to your best time in a race on a specific distance, in this case 21,097 km. You can submit your PB by mail (info@romaostia.it)
Bib numbers will be assigned automatically according to your best time in a half marathon in 2018 or 2019 (once verified). Should the information regarding your best time be incomplete or false you will be assigned a bib number for the last grid.

MEDICAL CERTIFICATE: In conjunction with the Runcard, medical certificate for competitive athletics allows you to participate in competitive running events in Italy without the need of the membership card of an Iaaf-licensed club. The medical certificate must be filled in and signed by a doctor in your country. We can only accept this ➡ medical form

Remember that the Runcard gives you a “fast pass” to participate in the races: You can upload the medical certificate in your reserved area on their website: http://www.runcard.com/login Your username and password will be provided by Runcard Staff. If you haven’t received them by email together with your runcard please write to info@runcard.com

The validation results will be acquired automatically by the organizers, allowing the athlete to skip the submission of the medical certificate at the expo.

DECLARATION ATHLETE LICENSED FOR A FOREIGN FEDERATION

Athletes that are members of clubs affiliated with foreign athletic associations recognized by IAAF, must provide one of the following documents:

  • A scanned copy of their membership card
  • Declaration for athletes registered with a Foreign Federation completed and signed

The membership card must be valid on the date of RomaOstia Half Marathon 2019; it must comply with all the rules and regulations on road running enforced in the athlete’s country of residence upon registration. Please send it to info@romaostia.it
