Rome, 29 October 2018 – The prestigious Gold Label, the IAAF brand of excellence that awarded the Huawei RomaOstia Half Marathon, arrives for the seventh consecutive year, as one of the most important running competitions internationally, the only one in Italy to receive it between 2017 and 2018. An important and highly appreciated result, the result of the great work carried out over the years on this half marathon which is always attentive to the needs of the participants.

“What we have done over the years, as many as 45 up until now, is to always try to satisfy the participants. Put them first, in terms of achieving the best both from the point of view of performance and the emotional experience. Obtaining the IAAF Gold Label has cost us a lot, not only from a financial point of view, but also in terms of logistics and the various sectors of the organizational machine.

Sunday, March 10th is the date scheduled for the next edition, at which the Gruppo Sportivo Bancari Romani, together with RCS Sport have been working for months. The results of the current year were interesting, with many registrations (13,500 runners registered for the half marathon and 1,500 for the non-competitive) and thanks to the participation of Galen Rupp, the Portland athlete who entered the Roma Ostia Hall of Fame running the race in 59’47”, just 5″short of the US record, there has been an increased interest in the race, especially from the States.

2019 will be the 44th edition, a new and exciting chapter of the race that connects Rome to the sea along a route of 21 km and 97 meters, the classic half-marathon.

With regards to the registrations, athletes who reserve their bib number by 30th November, will be able to take advantage of the frozen registration fee at 32 euros. The course of the race is confirmed: starting, as always, from Palalottomatica and arriving at the Ostia’s famous roundabout.

The first 3 km and 600 meters will wind through the EUR district while the rest along Via Cristoforo Colombo with the arrival at Piazzale Cristoforo Colombo, the famous “Rotonda” on the sea of ​​the Romans. The route is measured and certified by the Federation. Waves and corrals will be organized as previous years, where athletes are allocated a bib number based exclusively on their declared times obtained on the distance, which will be checked by the organizers.
