CITY TAX

On September 1st, 2014, the council of Rome established new measures which imposed new city tax rates.

The rates, which refer per person, are as follows:

Hotels (10 nights maximum)

1- 2 stars 3 euros per day

3 stars 4 euros per day

4 stars 6 euros per day

5 stars 7 euros per day

 

How do you pay?

The tax can be paid in cash or by card, at the end of the stay, directly to the accommodation facilities who will issue a nominative payment receipt. The tac applies up to a maximum of 10 consecutive nights in the calendar year provided they are made in the same accommodation facility; 5 nights if it is open-air accommodation such as campsites and areas equipped for temporary parking.

 

Who shouldn’t pay it?

A resident in Rome, children up to 10 years, anyone accompanying patients for health reasons, the staff of the State Police and other armed forces, a bus driver and a tour guide for every 23 participants.
